thinking

I came across a quote the other day at work that has absolutely revolutionized my world.

Change your thoughts and change your world.  –Norman Vincent Peale

Stop for a moment and re-read that quote a few times, truly pondering what it is saying.  The human mind is an incredibly powerful tool.  With it, we are capable of all sorts of things.  In fact, I just saw a commercial for the iPhone.  Someone tapped into the power of their mind to think-up the iPhone and then make it work.  And the tech world has never been the same.

God, since He created us, knows the power of the mind as well.  That is why the Bible speaks so strongly about it.  It is the key to spiritual transformation.

Romans 12:2 – Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Colossians 3:1-2 – If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

These are just a few, but the point is clear:  Train your mind, change yourself.  Change your thinking and change your world.
